Saying Goodbye to our Family: Chico customers say goodbye to Ryan Fiscus
Did you know that a man expected to live to age 78 will have lived a total of 683,760 hours. If he starts work at age 22 after college, works 37.5 hours per week until age 65 with three weeks’ vacation per year, he will work a total of 106,575 hours during his lifetime, or roughly 15.5 percent of his life. What we’re saying is over one’s life span people tend to spend a lot of time with their co-workers. Seriously. A lot of time. When a co-worker leaves, it’s hard, it’s unbearable and above all else it’s like saying goodbye to family. That being said, it’s time for LRT to say goodbye to one of our amazing graphic designers, Ryan Fiscus.
Ryan Fiscus, affectionately known as Fiscus, is leaving Chico to take care of his mama, and therefore is saying sayonara to LRT Graphics. Saying that he will be missed, is a drastic understatement. He is an integral part of the culture and team we have worked so hard to create at LRT and as a person, is simply irreplaceable. He has been with the company for the last 5 years, starting straight out of college. It is our absolute pleasure to have seen him grow creatively and as a person during that time. Getting to know Fiscus and having him on our team has helped shape our past and his legacy will continue to help shape our future as we continue to grow.
Fiscus is an incredible graphic designer who has helped in branding many of our customers. We are sad to see him go, but happy to see him continue on his journey. His last day at LRT will be Friday, August 16, so please feel free to stop by anytime before then to say your goodbyes (or to bring him some sweet goodies). After that, he’ll be in Sacramento.
Since we’re no longer going to be able to pick on Fiscus every single day we thought we’d share a few fun facts about Fiscus that you may (or may not) know about him:
- Do not talk to him before he’s had his coffee. Seriously. This is a recommendation but you should trust our warning. We’re very serious.
- Fiscus is an avid adventurer who enjoys climbing, hikes and the great outdoors. His recent expeditions have included hiking in Humboldt redwoods Multnomah Falls in Portland and Burney Falls.
- Fiscus likes putting birds on things. Seriously. That was his inspiration. At least we like to think so.
- He is a sneaky, skilled, and creative graphic designer. As a gift to a couple of his friends one year (whose wedding he couldn’t make, he hooked them up with a sweet collage of photographs, slyly inserting himself into every single frame. Ryan is good, but what he didn’t expect was that it would take them 13 and a half months to realize his face was in every single photo. Apparently Fiscus IS that good. Can you find Fiscus?
- He sings, out loud. All. The. Time. It’s funny.
- Fiscus has a sensitive soul – he is caring, affectionate and always watching out for his coworkers making sure that they’re all treated with the utmost respect.
- Fiscus loves LRT so much he wears our apparel all day every day. Seriously. This is him out and about. In an LRT shirt. That’s company loyalty if I’ve ever seen it. Did you think his loyalty was just a fluke, don’t worry.
Here’s more proof of his undying love for LRT :p
Okay, we had to throw this one in just for any doubters out there. - Fiscus always goes above and beyond helping our clients get what they want. Even if it means staying at work till 9 p.m. on a Friday, seriously. He’s that loyal.
- The key to keeping a smile on his face is to keep a beer in his hand. This typically depends on what’s going on in the day, but it’s almost guaranteed to work. For real.
- During our thanksgiving party Fiscus won the turkey hand drawing contest. Big surprise.
- Oh ya. The other way to Fiscus’ heart is through food. Seriously. Feed him, he’ll love you forever.
Fiscus is the best co-worker and will be missed. A lot. Have no fear though you will be left in capable hands. We will still be the same great company that we have always been and can not take away all that we’ve learned from Fiscus. Did we mention he’ll be missed, because he will. We wish him nothing but the best as he continues to explore the world and has an easy transition in his move back to Sacramento. If you have any questions or stories you’d like to share about Fiscus, please share them with us – we’d all love to hear them.
Fiscus – Au revoir, Sayanora, Hasta Luego – “Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean, I’ll miss you until we meet again.”
